Just read Slow Journey South for the 3rd time. Got the new one a few weeks ago and saving it for my holiday. Busting to read it !!!
You have inspired me to follow my heart a little more and listen to some people a little less. I now never say “never” as we all dont know what happens each day we wake up.
Thank you, thankyou for your wonderful writing. I find it so easy to read and love every minute of it.
I am an Aussie and travelled a fair bit in the outback so looking forward to hearing more about the Aussie walk. What a life !

I received your book as a Christmas present from my husband’s parents who live in Tamworth. His mum heard one of your interviews on the radio and knew I would love your book. I am fascinated by your journey and plan on loaning it to many others.

You are an extraordinarily strong woman. You are an inspiration to other women and I applaud your strength and determination.

Living in Lincoln, NE, I’m assuming I won’t get to see your documentary on your Australian walk so I will be anxiously awaiting the book. Can’t wait for “Slow Journey South” to arrive!

I picked up your first book from a book exchange in Vietnam recently and couldn’t put it down. I am a teacher from the Torres Strait and have an itch to have a more adventurous life. I cannot wait to order your next book though my husband may not thank me if I talk about you any more!
I just wanted to thank you for being such an inspiration and following your big dreams. Best of luck with the Australian walk. What is the postage for a book to north Qld?

Hi Paula, I have just finished reading Sahara and was really inspired and horrified and worried for you! I’ve been to Morocco a couple of times and can relate to some of your stories but the other countries sounded really hard for you. You are one tough cookie but I loved being with you on the journey from the comfort of my home. The detail you write in really pulled me in and your honesty with sharing your every emotion really made the book a fab read for me.. What a challenge! Good luck for your Aussie walk which I’m sure will still be tough but at least you’ll be able to speak the lingo. I’m sure the book was a sell out over Christmas for you.

Purchased book (slow journey south) tue opened it on wed finished it thur great read mate. Great to see someone else doesnt take it so seriously that they cant enjoy it. My partner and I climbed Mt Rinjani last April, finished night shifts Collie W.A. Friday morning, dinner in Perth that night, Flew out to Indo Saturday morning arrived base of volcano Saturday night 20.00 hrs, Spanish couple we met at restaurant couldnt believe we where climbing at 0800 next morning. I think the fact we where sitting there with beers and smoking made them think we where not organised. Truth is they where sort of right we paid the penalty and fatigue/virtigo got the better of us on day 3 and we didnt make the summit (long story) but had a great time. We go back June 2010 cant wait gunna get to the summit this time!!!!!!!!!!! Your story takes me back and makes me laugh, but at the same time I feel for your dark times, and relate to your deep thoughts, its a great story and I can not wait to read your 2nd book. Whats the go how do I get a hold of it?

I just finished Sahara, and I’m bloody glad you got kicked out of there when you did – walking all that way then dieing of a UTI and bull-headed stubborness just didn’t seem like the best way to end the story … it reminded me of the story ‘Into the Wild’ But In saying that, I again, thoroughly enjoyed the book – your physical and internal stuggle – poignant and insightful, and your determination and strength of character – astounding and awe-inspiring! I also note a happy ending to your personal life as well – that’s wonderful, and I look forward to hearing about your outback adventures!

Hi, I am half way through your new book I was given for my birthday and loving it. What a amazing journey in many ways. I have travelled a lot through our australian desert and look forward to following your next trip through our outback, go for it.
