Hi Paula
I have just finished reading your book today, much to my family's relief as I just couldn't put it down!! It is presently in our book club that meets once a month (you would love it - lots of chatting, wine and sharing our fav books) Having lived my life in Africa (till 7 years ago) and done a few years of backpacking in my youth, you can understand how your story has such an appeal! One of my favourite passages was your description of the flamenco dancer, embracing the "majestic power of woman in her true midlife prime" and how it was a "dance of all the tragedy and pain and joy and sex and giving and hurt that makes a woman what she is". Love it!! Good luck & stay strong - will be checking your site & can't wait for the next book!

You've inspired lofty criticisms with no basis whatsoever provided! That's a mark of success too, though it's too bad that someone who can't appreciate your experiences finds them threatening.

Hi Paula,

I have just finished reading your book and would like to pass on a few comments.

1. It seems like you waffle a great deal.

2. Your contention that all countries should lower their borders so that anyone can live anywhere, shows a great lack of understanding about social, political and economical issues.

3. I would have liked to have seen more descriptive writting about the countries & cultures that you interacted with.

4. Why did you not allow more input from your husband? His viewpoint / perspective of the same journey would have provided a richer reading experience.

All the best for the next part of your journey.

Hi Paula, I've just finished reading your book, Slow Journey South, and was absolutely amazed and enthralled in your experiences. What an inspiration you are. So many of my thoughts and you've actually proved that they don't have to be just dreams. I eagerly look forward to the next book, and wish you well for the rest of your journey.
Best wishes,
Chris
